In reading the comment sections of various articles about this issue it seems the right wing extremists are so rabid in their hatred of anything Obama or Democratic that they completely overlook the hypocrisy of their stance. Not too long ago conservatives rallied around  the owner of Chick-Fil-A to support that man's opinion that homosexuals shouldn't have the same rights as he has. While he shared the same views they have, their rallying point was to defend his freedom of speech and expression and to point out that he was a job creator who's business was threatened by left wing extremists.

Well here is a similar situation. A business owner freely expressed his views and for it these same guardians of freedom and capitalism want to shut him down because they disagree with his him. For all their bullshit claims that the President refuses to work with Republicans, here's a situation where the administration has worked with and recognized Scott Van Duzer ( a registered Republican) for his stellar work in raising awareness for blood donations (certainly not a partisan issue) and apparently built something of a connection with the businessman. And because he expressed his preference they want to in effect shut down his restaurant.

And this is where I get frustrated by the lack of efficient organization by the left. In the Chick-Fil-A issue it didn't take long for right wing conservative to put together a united front in support of that man's choice and business. The same should be done for Duzer by the left. This is the perfect time to expose the rightwing for the ridiculous hardliners they've become for the last 40 years and even more so for the last 20. They have shunned fellow Republicans in the last 3 and half years for not taking a position against the President. Boehner for example was said to be willing to work out a compromise with Obama on the debt ceiling debate. What would have been the "Grand Bargain".  But the extremist on his side of the aisle, the Tea Party, pressured him to nix the deal and so he did. Romney can't run on his experience as a governor because of similarities in policies he's enacted that Obama copied. All of this just illustrates the craziness running deep in that party.

The news media has done a piss poor job of showing that so its up to social media to expose it. If you support Scott Van Duzer's right to express his choice then go to the face book page and post it. If your're in the area of his pizza restaurant show your support there.
